How the conversion works
Temperature scales don't just differ by a factor; their zero points are different too, so each conversion has an offset as well as a multiplier.
°F = °C × 9/5 + 32
Example: 35 °C = 95 °F
Useful reference points
Water freezes at 0 °C (32 °F) and boils at 100 °C (212 °F). Normal body temperature is about 37 °C (98.6 °F). −40 is the same in Celsius and Fahrenheit.
Quick mental estimate
To get a rough Fahrenheit value, double the Celsius and add 30. For 25 °C that gives 80 °F; the exact answer is 77 °F.
