How is time added?

Everything is converted to seconds, added or subtracted, and converted back. Minutes and hours carry over at 60, and days at 24 hours.

1 hour = 60 minutes = 3,600 seconds

2h 45m + 1h 30m = 4h 15m

Carrying over minutes

45 minutes plus 30 minutes is 75 minutes, which is 1 hour 15 minutes. This calculator does the carrying for you, including into days.

Going past midnight

Adding 5 hours to 10:00 PM gives 3:00 AM the next day. The result shows the new date and how many days it moved.
