How is GPA calculated?
Each grade is turned into grade points, multiplied by the course credits, and the total is divided by the total credits.
GPA = Σ (credits × grade points) ÷ Σ credits
CGPA = (old CGPA × old credits + new grade points) ÷ all credits
SGPA and CGPA
SGPA is your GPA for one semester. CGPA is the credit-weighted average across all semesters so far. Enter your previous CGPA and completed credits to update it.
Converting CGPA to percentage
CBSE and many universities multiply CGPA by 9.5 to get an approximate percentage. Some universities use a different formula, so check your university's rule for official use.
