What makes a password strong?
Strength comes from length and randomness. Each character picked at random from a set of N possible characters adds log₂ N bits; more bits means more guesses needed to crack it.
Strength (bits) = length × log₂(number of possible characters)
16 characters from 80+ symbols ≈ 100 bits: far beyond guessing
Never reuse passwords
If one site is breached, attackers try the same email and password everywhere else. Use a different password for every account and keep them in a password manager. Turn on two-factor authentication (OTP or an authenticator app) for email, banking and UPI apps.
How these passwords are made
The generator runs entirely in your browser using its cryptographic random number generator (the same kind used for encryption). Nothing you generate is sent to our server or saved.

Frequently asked questions
How long should a password be?
At least 12 characters, and 16 or more for important accounts like email and banking. Length matters more than complexity.
Is it safe to use an online password generator?
This one is: passwords are created on your device and never leave it. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.
Why avoid look-alike characters?
O and 0, or l, 1 and I, are easy to misread when typing a password by hand. Skipping them costs very little strength.
